How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

I will equip both you and your partner so that you are ready to birth as a family. During the birth, I will be there with you two for continuous support.

What are your interactions with medical staff like?

We work together hand in hand during every birth. Each of us have certain roles during the process, with the birther and the baby as the center.

Do you perform any physical examinations?

A doula does not perform any medical procedures and doesn't diagnose any illnesses. We are not medical professionals. Doulas support birthers during the process.

What is a doula?

A doula is a non-medical professional that supports you throughout your journey. The word "doula" is of Greek origin that means "female slave" but throughout the years has evolved as a support person for other people.

What is a doula's role?

A doula provides evidence-based information, emotional support, physical comfort, and spiritual resilience to help you throughout your pregnancy, labor, and birth.

How can a doula help me?

Studies have shown that the presence of a doula during birth can help reduce labor time and lessen complications for a healthier baby that can breastfeed more easily.

Do I have to attend a Childbirth Preparation Class?

To be fully ready for labor, birth, and postpartum, attending a Childbirth Preparation Class is highly recommended. Readiness can make a big difference in your birth outcome.

Is a doula for birth only?

A doula isn't for birth only and we can support you in any stage you are in. There are also fertility, postpartum, bereavement, and menopause doulas.
